Rooting into Your Practice Movement Foreword into Spring w/ Kristina Pao Cheng
10:30 am
Come enjoy this extended yoga class where we’ll explore poses that look into the root of things with a playful heart. Take your feet, legs and hips forward into celebrating the coming of spring with a practice that has a flavor of becoming both grounded and full. With guidance and inspiration we'll weave life, family and work together as we arrive fully in our practice. Discover that we’ve been there all along, as we make effort, play, and grow in shapes that help us uncover ourselves.
Much loved teacher Kristina Pao Cheng brings her unique flavor of yoga philosphy to each class she teaches, infusing it with the strength and ease needed for students to find their seat on the mat, and to connect deeply with the profound, complete and joyful aspect of practice.
Kristina began her study of yoga with Sharon Gannon and David Life in 1997 and has received additional training with many wonderful teachers since then. She has taught extensively over the years and enjoys sharing the practice with others. She has taught in studios, teacher trainings, and conferences in New York, Jackson Hole, Arizona and Hong Kong. Kristina is a graduate of Princeton University with a love for art, architecture and more recently growing ones own vegetables, and making healthy food that is nourishing and energizing for all!

Cost: $25

From the Ground Up: Align your Standing Poses!
11:00 am
Standing poses cultivate strength, grounding, and balance both on and off the mat. Focusing on our physical alignment in poses like Tadasana, Warriors and Tree, gives us the opportunity to become more grounded and honest in our inner practice. Inner and outer alignment helps us become more present in our everyday lives. Great for any student who wants to deepen their awareness of the poses, and great for beginners who are new to yoga poses. When: June 15th 11am-1pm $25. Please RSVP to info@theyogahousepiermont.com

Art Opening: Stephen Wuensch
6:00 pm
Stephen Wuensch is an artist who works in a variety of media including painting, drawing, video and performance. His work often negotiates social or behavioral dynamics. This group of collages explores the divide between virtual and actual, tactile and simulated. Through ad hoc arrangements and the element of chance, casual Polaroid photos of folded paper become meditations on light and space. Each piece is a unique work of art.
These works are being offered for sale at an affordable price. Along with a framed collage, the purchaser will receive a second work of art. This work will be revealed at the time of sale. The buyer is asked to give this additional work to the person of his or her choice. Think of it as a gift from us and from you. This gesture is meant to celebrate our unique connections and to strengthen and extend our community ties.
